OVERVIEW

Q. What is Tavistock’s plan for the redevelopment of Pier Sixty-Six?

Tavistock intends for Pier Sixty-Six to reclaim its iconic place on the South Florida coast, with our reimagined resort, exquisite new residences, and the world-renowned superyacht marina Pier Sixty-Six has a long heritage in Fort Lauderdale – the yachting capital of the world. The historic marina and distinctive tower have been beloved landmarks on the horizon for generations. As the city’s nearest marina to the Atlantic Ocean, Pier Sixty-Six has always been a gathering place, where people can meet for memorable experiences. The Pier Top has hosted many meaningful celebrations, from birthdays to anniversaries and weddings. We want to honor and celebrate the Pier Sixty-Six tradition, while transforming it into a visionary destination for the 21st century.

NEXT STEPS AND OPENING DATE

Q. When will the hotel reopen?

The resort is projected to open in 2024. The hotel tower sustained significant damage from Hurricane Irma in 2017, and since that time all 150 hotel rooms have been closed. The first priority is to get the resort tower restored and reopened, so that the resort can once again welcome guests.

Q. Can I see what the new hotel will look like once it reopens?

Project details and renderings of the new Pier Sixty-Six are available at www.PierSixtySix.com. You can also sign up for updates on the resort, residences, or marina.

Q. What are the next steps for the project?

The first phase of development, which includes the northeast portion of the property, on the north side of 17th Street, is underway. The resort and first residences are expected to open in 2024.

THE TOWER AND PIER TOP

Q. Are you tearing down the main tower?

No. The tower is an iconic landmark in Fort Lauderdale and will remain so. Tavistock intends to preserve the integrity of the resort Tower and will designate it historic once its restoration is complete.

Q. When Pier Top reopens as a lounge will it rotate as it once did?

While we have maintained the functionality of the room’s ability to rotate, we continue to explore the functionality and best use of the space and will determine this at a later date.

RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES

Q. What residential options does Pier Sixty-Six offer?

The Residences at Pier Sixty-Six offer two-to four-bedroom luxury condominiums, featuring expansive private terraces overlooking Fort Lauderdale’s legendary marinas and waterways. The inaugural residential offering includes 62 private residences, delivering unparalleled waterfront living in the heart of Fort Lauderdale. For more information and to inquire about purchasing a residence, visit www.PierSixtySixResidences.com.

Q. When will residential sales begin?

Residential sales launched in October 2022. For more information about residential sales, please contact Residences@PierSixtySix.com or call: 754.231.3066.

RESTAURANTS AND NEW MARINA PROMENADE

Q. Why did you close Pelican Landing, and when will it reopen?

Like many local businesses, Pelican Landing faced significant challenges due to COVID. Just as with Pier Sixty-Six, Pelican Landing will also be reimagined and we look forward to welcoming back our neighbors, boaters, and many loyal customers in the future.

Q: Is Tavistock going to have full control over access to the Marina Promenade?

Absolutely not. We will work collaboratively with the Florida Department of Transportation and the City of Fort Lauderdale to create a publicly accessible pedestrian promenade under the 17th Street Causeway bridge to unify the properties on the north and south. The land is owned by the Florida Department of Transportation and leased to the City of Fort Lauderdale. While the Promenade would be privately funded and managed, it would be open to the public to enjoy from dawn to dusk every day.

CLUB

Q. Are there plans to incorporate a Club into the property?

We have not made any final decisions as to the programming elements of the property and continue to explore possibilities for this bespoke property and the needs of our future guests and visitors.

Our portfolio of real estate projects each share a common thread: they are unique and iconic to the destination. We saw Pier Sixty-Six as exactly this type of opportunity in Fort Lauderdale and are excited for the future reimagination of the property.

LATER CONSTRUCTION

Q. What will be completed within the first wave of construction in the next few years?

We expect the resort and surrounding amenities and a portion of residential units to be complete within the first phase of construction. Some of the residential units will be phased and will not open at the same time as the resort. The first phase includes the resort and its amenities, the mixed-use development along the waterfront (shops, restaurants, and offices), the Marina Promenade, the new structured parking podium, and the completion of the first condominium tower, and resort residences buildings alongside the resort pool decks. The second condominium building and the remaining residential units will be part of the second phase, and the timeline is undetermined at the moment. We are also exploring how to activate various open, undeveloped spaces so they become an additive component of the vibrant destination property.
